Salesforce acquires Zoomin, a tool for organizing company knowledge– Brit Commerce

Salesforce is on a buying spree.

After acquiring data management company Own earlier this month, Salesforce today… announced Its plans to buy Zoomin, a business knowledge platform. Zoomin, which we’ve talked about several times before, unifies a company’s documents, such as user guides and product tutorials, into one portal.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Salesforce expects it to close in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2025 (Jan. 31), subject to customary closing conditions.

Founded in 2019 by Gal Oron, Hannan Saltzman and Joe Gelb, Approach It applies artificial intelligence and big data to help businesses create self-service search and documentation support experiences. The Israeli startup’s clients range from tech brands like McAfee and Dell to fast food franchises like Burger King, Tim Hortons and Popeyes.

Zoomin’s investors (including General Atlantic, Bessemer Ventures Partners, Viola Growth and Salesforce’s own venture organization, Salesforce Ventures) invested $73 million in equity into the company.

Rahul Auradkar, executive vice president of unified data sources at Salesforce, says that after the acquisition, Zoomin will augment Salesforce’s Data Cloud platform to power use cases such as using a company’s knowledge base to automate customer service interactions.

“Proprietary unstructured data is a powerful fuel for our customers to use for AI agents and customer experiences,” said Auradkar, “and Zoomin’s proven expertise and technology will accelerate Data Cloud innovation and enable our customers to realize better value.”

Salesforce’s acquisition of Zoomin comes after the tech giant committed to spending $500 million in additional cash on AI startups through Salesforce Ventures.
